Taking Care of Luke

We recently were requested to watch our God-Son, Luke, for a weekend while my brother and sister in law were active being in a wedding. He is now almost 16 months old and filled with fire and spunk!
There were two things that I was surprised to learn during this weekend:
1. Jerome always says that he is impatient. I do witness these impatient moments on occasion and we always talk about how a child would really push HIS limits. I am known to be the more patient one. But, as seen in the photo above, really the opposite is true. To lay the scene out in the above picture, it is around 1045 pm on a Saturday night. Luke usually goes to bed around 9:00 pm ("like clockwork" momma Janet says... "just give him a drink from his sippy cup and he will go right down"). Sounds too good to be true... it is too good to be true! I am scheduled to work at 9am the next morning. Luke is sick and doing anything he can to stay awake. I tried to get him to bed, but failed. The little guy was squirming all over the place! So Jerome wanted a try... as much as Luke tried to get away, Jerome stayed patient. After 10 minutes or so, Luke fell asleep as he was trying to wiggle away from Jerome... incredibly cute.
2. This point is simple. It was a blast taking care of Luke... but no kids for me right now.
